Voice/Acting

Unlock your potential and step into the spotlight with our Voice and Acting classes! Designed for kids and teens, this class provides an engaging and supportive environment where students can explore the art of acting and learn vocal techniques. Through a variety of exercises, games, and performances, participants will develop essential skills, build confidence, and learn how to bring characters and stories to life on stage through expression and song. Private voice lessons are also available. 

Voice/Acting I is for students ages 6-9

Voice/Acting II is for students ages 10-13

Students ages 14 and up are invited to audition for our MDT Cohort

Key Features:

  • Fundamental Techniques: Learn the basics of acting, including voice projection, diction, body language, and stage presence. Students also learn proper vocal techniques, placement, and breath control.

  • Character Development: Explore how to create and embody diverse characters through improvisation, script work, and role-playing.

  • Scene Work: Practice scenes from plays, movies, and original works to understand dialogue, timing, and interaction with other actors.

  • Audition Preparation: In this class the instructor guides students through the process of selecting, cutting, and polishing songs and monologues for future school and community theater auditions.

  • Improvisation Games: Enhance creativity and spontaneity with fun and interactive improvisation games and exercises.

  • Confidence Building: Gain self-confidence and improve public speaking skills through regular performance opportunities and constructive feedback.
