Dress Code

This dress code is intended to give dancers the tools they need to succeed without distraction. Dance clothing is necessary so instructors can evaluate technique and make sure each student is dancing safely and avoiding injury. When students arrive to class in proper dress they are showing their instructor that they are ready to learn.

Ballet Classes

Students in Ballet 1, 2, 3, and 4 may wear any combination of leotard, tights, skirt/shorts that they like. Ballet shoes need to be worn throughout class.

All female ballet students in Ballet 5 and above are required to wear a black leotard of their choice, Capezio Professional Mesh Transition Tights in Classical Pink, and Bloch "Performa" Stretch Canvas Ballet Shoes in Theatrical Pink.

 

They may also wear EAPA spankies or an approved ballet skirt (Womens: Classic Ballet Wrap Skirt or Girls Basic Ballet Wrap Skirt). Hair must be pulled back in a neat bun.

Upper levels have assigned ballet skirt colors

- Principles: Black

- Company: Red 

- Academy: Teal

- Demi: White

Boys wear a plain white t-shirt, black leggings, and Bloch "Pump" Stretch Canvas Ballet Shoes in Black.

Jazz and Tap Classes

Jazz students in levels 1, 2, 3, and 4 may wear any combination of leotard, tights, skirt/shorts, or unitard that they like. For jazz these dancers will dance barefoot.

 

All dancers in Jazz 5 or above may wear their choice of the following:

Top: Leotard or tank top

Bottom:  Black leggings or dance shorts, (male students also have the option of wearing black joggers).

Jazz Shoes: Theatricals Neoprene Arch Slip-On Jazz Boot in Tan

Tap Shoes: Dancer's choice of any lace up or slip on tap shoe that is not made of patent leather

Hair must be pulled back in a tidy ponytail or bun.

Baggy clothing is NOT permitted in jazz classes.

Modern Classes

All Modern students may wear their choice of the following:

Top: Leotard or tank top  

Bottom:  Black leggings or dance shorts, (male students also have the option of wearing black joggers).

Shoes: No shoes will be worn in this class

Hair must be pulled back in a tidy ponytail or bun.

Hip-Hop Classes

All Hip-Hop students may wear their choice of the following:

Top: Leotard, tank top, t-shirt, or other top of their choosing

Bottom:  Leggings, joggers, shorts, sweats, or leggings

Shoes: Double Platinum Hi-Top Canvas Dance Sneaker in Black  NOTE: THESE SHOES SHOULD ONLY BE WORN IN THE STUDIO, NEVER ON THE STREET

Hair must be pulled back in a tidy ponytail or bun unless otherwise informed by the instructor

Tumbling/Acro Classes

All tumbling students may wear their choice of the following:

Top: Leotard, tank, or a gymnast unitard of their choice

Bottom:  Leggings or dance shorts, (male students also have the option of wearing black joggers).

Shoes: No shoes will be worn in this class

Hair must be pulled back in a tidy ponytail or bun.

Broadway Dance and MDT Classes

All Broadway students may wear their choice of the following:

Top: Leotard or tank top 

Bottom:  Leggings or dance shorts, (male students also have the option of wearing black joggers).

Shoes: Neoprene Arch Slip-On Jazz Boot in Tan

Hair must be pulled back in a tidy ponytail or bun.

NOTE: JEANS ARE NOT ALLOWED

Acting and Voice Classes

Students in this class may wear whatever clothing they are comfortable moving in.

Music Classes

Any attire that is suitable for a casual school day is suitable for music classes.

Adult Classes

There is no dress code for adult classes. Please where comfortable clothes you can move in.
