Arts Education for All

OUR MISSION

To provide performers with a supreme performing arts education at an affordable price. We prepare performers for future auditions by teaching proper techniques in a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment.

OUR VISION

We want each student to leave EAPA a better person, not just a better performer. We do this by teaching classroom etiquette and fostering an attitude of perseverance, respect, belonging, and service.

OUR VALUES

We acknowledge our students are humans first and performers second. We push them to be the best they can be but we will never put a performer's achievement over their well-being. We do this by taking a genuine interest in each student and approaching conflicts with compassion and empathy. We value progress over perfection. With us you can count on modest costumes, music, and movement.

Our History

20 years ago Andrea Edwards and Cory Rivers founded Canyon View Arts Center. Since then CVAC has been a staple in the Riverton community providing thousands of dancers with a quality dance education.

Emma Langford started at CVAC in 2010 and in 2024 she will assume the role of owner and director rebranding the studio as Encore Academy for the Performing Arts. She plans to continue the legacy of strength and belonging stared by Andrea and Cory.

Our Culture

Canyon View Arts Center ran off of word-of-mouth referrals alone due to the incredible culture of the studio. Our dancers enter our studio as preschoolers and dance with us through high school. Many of our staff members grew up dancing at CVAC and couldn't wait to come back to be a part of our amazing dance family again.

Now that the studio has rebranded as Encore Academy we are excited to welcome many new faces to our studio. This is a place where performers are encouraged to try new things, work hard, and have fun. Encore Academy continues CVAC's legacy of having a strict no-negativity policy. If any performer or parent is found to be speaking negatively of another performer, parent, or teacher they will be given a warning and if happens again they will no longer be allowed to take class.

At Encore Academy the only person you're competing against is yourself. We take special care to make sure each of our students is placed in a class that best fits their needs and skill level.

So, if you're new to our performing arts family, welcome! We're excited you're here. If you're a continuing student from Canyon View Arts Center, thanks for sticking around! I hope you will continue to be a part of our incredible community and enjoy the new additions we've made as we continue to expand.

Sincerely,

Emma
